Man, animation...

Love your style, always will. The characters are really great, fitting the parts they were playing really well. I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll do with them.

TheBoogley responds:

me too... I hope it's good... :3

Very well done.

Very well done, well paced combined with animations that got your point across. I'd say the biggest thing that separates this from an "Egoraptor Original" is the sound quality. What I'd most recommend is a touch of a "Noise Removal" filter of some kind (Audacity works well). The microphone you are using, (and most not 5billion dollar microphones) leave a little background noise/static in the recordings. For example the cockpit scene, in between the computerized voice, and him saying "I'm 13" you can tell the difference between recorded silence and actual silence by the amount of static. Same goes for overlapped recordings.
In terms of animation. Using Awesome Center Redux as an example. You'll notice that black outlines are never used on background scenery of objects. This does wonders to promote contrast and makes every seem more sleek and professional. Same goes for colour schemes in general. Provides depth and flow unity and blah blah art theory. It's these little things that make a great piece of work stand above the rest.
This is coming from someone who _really_ has no idea what he's talking about in terms of animation. So take it in stride. Overall this is very well put together animation. I look forward to seeing more from you.

Cheers,

Galneda responds:

Yeah, that pause between Leo and ADA is what really served as contrast between the background fuzz and silence. I actually had to record flat-lined silence for that scene in particular just to not make it PAINFULLY obvious. Imagine that pause where it cuts off to nothing...really kills the flow completely instead of just partially.

No, but just today I hooked up with my older brother, who, conveniently, is an Audio Engineer! He's going to provide me with the hook-up on getting some quality recording done in my future projects. No more headset + default windows sound recorder for me!

Although you don't give yourself enough credit in talking about terms of animation, this is what I was looking for in reviews; you did an excellent job reviewing.

Thanks for the review! Keep an eye (and ear) out for my future projects!

Pacing!

It wasn't bad, but it was soooo dragged out and there were chunks or dialouge that seemed entirely irrelevant to the story you were trying to tell. Did mario really need to spend close to 2 minutes walking up to a counter, talking to a guy, only to have him say "You'd better hurry on your way". Try condensing all of that into 3 minutes tops, or the majority of people won't make it through the introduction.

kawaiiminda responds:

Ok thanks, I'll try to make it better next time. ^_^

Great concept...

I preferred the graphics in the first version though. The gems are too visually distracting and don't really fit with the tech feel of the rest of the game. Very fun though. I would try expanding on the gimmicks and adding other things (walls, moving obstacles, etc.) Right now you have a neat engine for a timed, collection based mouse avoider, you can definitely expand on this.
Great work.

Another roller coaster game?

The concept of winning a daily on the THIRD submission of an identical re-skinned game, sort of baffles me. Especially when the other identical version didn't do as well...
Regardless of that... not bad. Neat concept. Might have been worth building on a little though...

Solid.

Solid concept with a very fitting art style. Definitely worth continuing.
